Wandering Tree Estate has a rich history that spans back to 1834 when the first settlers arrived in Barrington, Illinois. The property evolved over the years, culminating in its acquisition by the Silets family in 1971. Elaine and Harvey Silets transformed the estate into a weekend and summer home, as well as an event venue. Harvey's passion for rare trees and Elaine's design expertise paved the way for the exquisite gardens we see today.
Since 1984, Wandering Tree Estate has been opening its doors to host yearly charity benefits for various causes dear to Elaine's heart. The Estate's charity events have become a highlight of the event season, supporting organizations such as The Garden Conservancy, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Tickled Pink for women's cancer, and many more.
